The Station

The shack behind N7PKT: what I run, what I run it into, and how it all goes together. A compact apartment station, built to do real work from a small space.

Radios

Two radios run the station. A Xiegu G90, a 20 watt HF transceiver, handles the HF work. A handheld covers 2 meters and 70 centimeters on FM. Low power and compact gear on purpose, chosen to reach out without taking over the room.

Antennas

HF runs on 10 meter and 40 meter Hamstick antennas mounted on the balcony of a fourth story apartment. They are a deliberate compromise, the kind of antenna you reach for when a full size HF aerial is simply not an option, and they get me on the air anyway.

The rest

Tuners, amplifiers, interfaces, the computer, the power, and anything else that earns a place on the bench, added as the station grows.
